We teach at two studios in Eugene. We are happy to complement both studio’s specialties with our lessons in Swing and Lindy Hop. If you are interested in taking dance lessons outside the family of Swing, we highly suggest taking a look at one of these studios.
BNWA
BNWA has two different types of dance programs, the pre-professional ballet training program and the contemporary dance program. This is a professional studio staffed with highly qualified instructors. BNWA specializes in Ballet and provides lessons in a variety of dance styles including, of course, swing dance.
This studio is overseen by the artistic director Michele Major. Michele has experience as both a professional dancer and is a certified teacher of the Vaganova method of ballet instruction.
We have been teaching at BNWA since January 2009.
IME Dance Center
IME (I am ME) Dance Center is a professional dance center catering to the growing artistic community of Eugene and Springfield. Many of the classes offered are geared toward working dancers, aspiring professionals, previously trained dancers or those who have the desire to learn to dance in an accelerated learning environment. Other classes are structured to accommodate children and adult beginners.
IME focuses on urban dance forms: Hip Hop, Tap, and Jazz, as well as incorporating Lyrical styles and dance conditioning. IME is also the home of the Phenomenon Hip Hop Dance Company, and The Emerald City All Stars Competitive Dance Team.
We will begin teaching Swing Dance at IME this Fall. We look forward to teaching at this studio and meeting more dancers interested in learning how to Swing Dance.
